Why should you be reading?

Is reading an important skill?

Yes. That is how we generally gain knowledge, acquire wisdom, learn things, get to see, and last but not least, evolve.

Is reading the most important?

Not necessarily.

Reading is not everyone's cup of tea. One might start to dislike reading at any point in their life. No one is going to force anyone otherwise. Yet, one can get imbued with the significance of it.

Reading is simply one among the various means to find out, escape, and luxuriate in. For all I know, people have been doing all that in whichever way they like. So it’s not something one has to compel themself to try.

If it is so, then why should you read?

Why do you listen to music? Because it does something to you that no other means can do. Same goes with the reading too.

Infact, it is one among the most indispensable forms of entertainment. At least for millions of people, if not for all.

The effect of finishing a novel lasts longer than that of finishing a movie or a drama. It’s an intense experience that can only be felt because of reading. When we read books (such as novels), we pay more attention to the surroundings than when we watch movies. This, in turn, makes us see things in a different light. Like really, how often do we pay attention to the art style of a house or the furniture in it, let alone bother to admire them.

Once reading becomes a habit, one will subconsciously start to read any text that comes into their view. Thus learning new things inadvertently becomes a sure thing in our everyday life.

The most important thing of all is the change in personality that comes with every journey of reading books. Somewhere in between the sadness one feels for a protagonist and the sympathy for an antagonist, we will get to experience a sense of hope within. It will inspire us to try things out.

Since reading requires absolute concentration, it helps us to completely escape from reality while doing so. Not to mention, it enables our imagination to run wild. Obviously, the expansion of our language will be incredibly fast and vast when we read more often.

What kind of books can you read as a beginner?

If you don't know where to start with, then the befitting suggestion would be to choose from what attracts you the most. Be it fan fictions, novels, magazines, memoirs, etc. Reading about something you love helps you to continue with excitement.

If you can't find the genre you are into, it is best to think about what kind of movies you like. The answer to it is the genre you like. Do you like suspense/thriller movies? You can start with a fast-paced crime thriller that would keep you on edge with each turn of the pages. If you like romantic comedy movies, then try reading YA light novels that give you giggles and butterflies.

It doesn't matter what you start with as long as it keeps you in the process consistently.

Happy Reading!

EXO KAI's Songs And Books Recommendations

I know recommendations are subjective. I don’t, in general, care about an artist’s recommendations if they don’t match my taste, but Jongin’s recommendations intrigue and fascinate me to a great extent. And when I say he has an eclectic palate, it is something we all must agree upon. Songs List His unique, yet daring taste inspires me to try and give a chance to different genres other than mainstream. Chicago Typewriter - An exceptional for its kind.

For someone who always shuns that (periodical) side of K-dramas entirely, Chicago Typewriter not only came as a surprisingly high-quality entertainment but also as an unforgettable experience. I feel like it's wrong for me to not write a review for this. Therefore, here I go. For the first time, in my long journey of watching dramas, I felt my heart racing at the beginning of each episode. The first and highest of many praises must be given to the brilliant writer, Jin Soo Wan. Her past works including Kill Me, Heal Me and The Moon Embracing the Sun are my favourites. But this script of hers is a notch higher. They got me from the very first scene. The idea of a writer getting into his character by living as one hooked me instantly. After that, the thought of "quitting" never once came into my mind throughout the drama. TITLE: "Chicago Typewriter" - The title came from the name of a gun which sounds like a typewriter when it is being fired. GENR
